We recently posted a blog celebrating once again reaching our goal of zero carbon emissions, explaining how using AWS cloud plays a key role in achieving this and how we hope to support our users to become carbon neutrality as well.
But there is more to the story…
AWS is one of the initiators of the Climate Pledge and a market leader when it comes to providing their users with the most energy efficient infrastructure. On top of that they are heavily invested in both financing and using renewable energy sources. As a service they offer a meticulous platform to record and calculate the total carbon emission across one’s entire AWS cloud infrastructure. With our corporate wide ISO 14001:2015 certification, documenting our environmental impact is essential.
However, our ambitions go beyond an ISO certification.
Insife is fully committed to contribute to the global efforts of reaching zero carbon emissions. This is why – in addition to using AWS and making it available to our clients – we have partnered with the two initiatives SME Climate Hub and Stripe Climate as well.

The Hub is an initiative of the We Mean Business Coalition, the Exponential Roadmap Initiative and the United Nations Race to Zero campaign in collaboration with Normative and the Net Zero team at Oxford University.”
Like the Climate Pledge the SME Climate Hub encourages companies to be part of their mission by complying with the 3 requirements:
Half greenhouse gas emissions before 2030
Achieve net zero emissions before 2050
Disclose progress on a yearly basis
Taking the Climate Pledge and using AWS cloud has already provided us with the means to achieve the first two, but the 3rd requirement is equally important: We take our responsibility as a role model and offer insights to inspire others to take efficient steps towards carbon neutrality very seriously. We consider it our public duty.
Support it - Fund it
The same ambition applied when we signed up with Stripe Climate.
Stripe is a developer of payments infrastructure for the internet. Stripe Climate is an international community of companies committed to directing a fraction of their revenue to help scale emerging carbon removal technologies. Stripe Climate direct 100% of companies’ contributions to carbon removal. Carbon removal projects are sourced and vetted by Frontier, Stripe's in-house team of science and commercial experts.
Frontier is an advanced market commitment to buy an initial $925M of permanent carbon removal between 2022 and 2030. It’s funded by Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, Meta, McKinsey, and the tens of thousands of businesses using Stripe Climate.
Not just Cloud & Digital
Apart from our efforts to reduce the carbon emissions from our digital actives, we are also focused on the other more “analogue” aspects.
Therefore, to deliver energy and heating in DK, we have selected the providor Verdo due to their green profile. Verdo are among Europe’s leading suppliers of sustainable, certified biomass for the industrial sector and for district heating plants.
Achieving net zero emissions is a global challenge.
